Business model offers companies of all sizes coveted in-arena exposure and gives student-athletes across various sports access to NIL compensation.

Dance Camera Media Inc. (dancecamera.com) has launched a first-of-its-kind media company to aggregate and distribute dance cam content from college and professional sports—giving companies of all sizes access to advertise within sports arenas and offering NIL compensation to student-athletes. The company is the Official Dance Cam Media Partner for several colleges and universities, including UCLA, UC Berkeley, Saint Mary’s College, UC Davis, San Jose State University and Fresno State University.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company’s core product—the Bogo Boogie Dance Cam—combines dance cam entertainment with a ‘Buy One, Get One’ (BOGO) promotion from local, regional or national sponsors. A student-athlete from the school introduces each promotion, recording a 20-second promotion on their mobile device from a provided script. Student-athletes receive Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) compensation for their effort. Fans simply scan a QR code on the arena display to access, redeem, and share the digital coupon. All campaign data is captured and provided to the team partner and sponsor.

“We’re excited to launch our new suite of products, and our timing couldn’t be better,” said Dance Camera Media Founder and CEO Reginald Bowser. “The dance cam is the most common entertainment feature across college and professional sports, used by 80 percent of all organizations and seen by more than 350 million fans annually. The content is among the most viral on social media, and regardless of macroeconomic conditions, consumers are always looking for great discounts from their favorite brands. I’m excited about building a company and brand associated with fun and value.”

Dance Camera Media’s integration of NIL-compensated student-athletes into in-arena promotions is a first of its kind. For many school partners, the Bogo Boogie Dance Cam represents their first ‘forward-facing’ NIL integration and is the latest development in a growing trend to use student-athletes as brand influencers on a wide scale.

According to Dance Camera Media partner Opendorse

  • eight of 10 consumers have purchased a product after seeing an influencer recommend it;
  • 65% of people discover a new brand or product through an influencer; and
  • the ROI for influencer marketing is 11 times higher than all other digital media marketing.

“Given these industry metrics, the world’s most trusted and admired brands are looking for quick, easy and effective ways to work with student-athletes to increase reach, exposure and revenue,” Bowser said. “Dance Camera Media’s products fill this void.”

The company has developed what Bowser calls the industry’s first micro-fractional sports sponsorship model, allowing companies to purchase single game units.

“This is vitally important to local and regional businesses who have been forced to the sideline as sponsorship costs have skyrocketed,” Bowser said. “Now companies can leverage the strength of college and pro sports sponsorship at a fraction of the cost. It’s something so many smaller companies have wanted. They just couldn’t afford it—until now.”
